Describe a typical day at Powerstar

For me, I’m not sure there is ever a “typical” day at Powerstar, and I enjoy being involved in many different aspects of the business.

What do you enjoy the most about working in Energy?

In a fast-moving environment, there is always something new so work is never the same day to day, and I get to experience lots of different elements of the business and sector.

Are there any drawbacks to working in this sector?

Unfortunately, Government policy is not playing a big enough role in pushing the technologies required to overhaul the energy sector, thus slowing the adoption of the decarbonisation of the grid.

What’s your proudest achievement to date?

Taking on a role in the project management of the PVPS project which was the first and original deployment of the Powerstar VIRTUE energy storage solution.

Do you have any hobbies outside of work?

I enjoy Running, playing Golf, and Cooking.

Advancements in technology often cause significant changes in many industries, such as energy. What recent technological advances have had the biggest impact on your personal life?

Apple pay. The level of convenience this technology has brought to my everyday life is unmatched.

If you had to give one piece of advice to people seeking jobs in energy, what would it be?

Just jump in and do it. It’s a very exciting time for the energy sector which will see huge growth in the coming years.

Why Powerstar?

It’s incredibly rewarding to see all the work behind the scenes in order for a project to go ahead and then actually see it brought to reality in the real world.
