Caroline Stagnell | 20 Years at Orion: Reflections on a Career

Engineering and Manufacturing

As I approach my 20-year anniversary at Orion, I am reflecting on my time here and all that I have learned along the way. It has been an incredible journey, full of ups and downs, but ultimately, it has been a time of growth and self-discovery.

One of the biggest lessons I have learned throughout my career is that challenges will always be thrown at you. Some may go your way, while others won’t, but what’s important is how you learn from them. I have tried to approach each challenge as an opportunity for growth, and I feel that I have become a better person and employee as a result.

The reason I have been at Orion for 20 years is the people. I am part of an amazing team, and we not only work well together, but we are all friends too. This is a rare thing to find, and I value it greatly.

One of the peaks of my time at Orion was becoming the Finance Manager. I have struggled with confidence over the years, so to be given the opportunity to progress into this role was a great achievement for me. Of course, there have been a few pits along the way, but I have learned from each of them and become a stronger and more resilient person as a result.

To celebrate my 20-year anniversary, I have been gifted £5000 and two extra weeks of holiday, and I intend to spend it on a trip to Bali. I am looking forward to going somewhere hot and sunny, with good food and drink, and just relaxing and enjoying myself.

If I had to ask my family and friends to describe me, I’d like to think they would say I was a hard-working, dedicated, and caring person. But you’d have to ask them!

In conclusion, my 20 years at Orion have been an incredible journey, full of learning, growth, and friendship. I am grateful for the opportunities and experiences that I have had here and am looking forward to what the future holds.
