Buyer

We are seeking an experience and dynamic Buyer to join a growing manufacture based in Basingstoke, you play a key part in supporting supply chain functions across existing product and new projects! 

This role will offer the appointed Buyer excellent opportunity to grow and develop in an organisation who design and manufacture exclusive products. 

Main responsibilities for the chose Buyer will be:

• Receiving and procuring against bills of materials from the engineering department
• Initiates RFQ process and prepare bid documents.
• Work closely with engineering staff to procure components and related parts
• Raise and send purchase orders, check order acknowledgements and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain current and accurate purchase order data in the purchasing system
• Co-ordinating treatments and secondary processes required on procured items
• Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers, including visits to further the relationship 

To be the selected Buyer you will have the following skills and experience: 

• Exposure to purchasing electromechanical materials in an engineering environment 
• proven experience using MRP / ERP systems as well as being IT literate 
• Excellent team player with the ability to work on their own initiative
• Sourcing and negotiating with new and existing suppliers are key
