Due to continued growth, our client is looking to expand their team and is looking for an experienced Project Manager within the Rail industry. As a Project Manager, you will be required to manage the delivery of your work in line with timelines and expectations and be required to directly communicate with clients (within the Rail Sector) where applicable.

This Project manager role is a Hybrid opportunity, where you will be required to assist in developing growth and build new client relationships to expand on the current positive reputation. Do you have the experience, drive and passion to help deliver?

Role Responsibilities Include:

  • Project Management with each client (within the UK Rail sector), agreeing on time scales and goals for each project, reviewing & analysing associated risk
  • Ensure projects are within set budgets and manage risk, issue and opportunity
  • Manage multiple stakeholders across all UK Railway sectors to ensure timely, quality, and budget-compliant risk and readiness processes.
  • Ability to carry out all project management responsibilities including larger multi projects
  • Support the bidding process for proposals whilst specifying costs and requirements
  • Assess and manage risks within complex changes of major rail programs
  1. Role specific Technical expertise and skills

The project requires a set of specialist rail experience, please find this outlined below :-

  • Knowledge of integrated railway systems in UK passenger rail
  • Experience in introducing new fleets or managing operational railways
  • Integrated systems-level understanding of core railway technology
  • Familiarity with operational processes and procedures, with practical experience in related areas
  • Proficiency in risk, opportunity, and change management processes
  • Ability to identify technical, commercial, and program impacts and develop plans accordingly

General PM / Technical expertise and skills

  • Good working knowledge of risk, issue and opportunity management techniques
  • Strong stakeholder and people management skills, confident in chasing stakeholders for information and asking questions
  • Strong skills in Excel and other analytical packages is a must
  • Fluent technical report writing
  • Good knowledge of the UK rail industry, transportation, automotive or vehicle sector
  • Confident at presenting ideas and concepts to senior-level audiences
  • Knowledge of Power BI and data analysis is desirable

Qualifications:

  • Engineering Degree qualified is preferred but demonstration of relevant equivalent experience over time will also be considered
  • Project management qualifications are desirable but not essential
