Shifts: 06:00 - 17:20, 4 on 4 off

Hourly Rate: Days - £17.80 PAYE / £22.55 Umbrella
Nights - £23.67 PAYE / £30.20 Umbrella
Saturday - £26.70. PAYE /£34.15 Umbrella (All hours)
Sunday - £35.60 PAYE / £45.75 Umbrella (All hours)

Hours Per Week: 44 hours per week minimum
Duration: Ongoing

Orion Rail is looking for a hands-on Mechanical Fitter to join our world-renowned Rolling Stock client on their success journey.

As the Mechanical Fitter, you will be carrying out a Mechanical overhaul within a busy, safety-conscious, Manufacturing environment.


Mechanical Fitter Position Summary:
The role is carrying out Mechanical overhaul including stripping and refitting. You will be specifically focused on modifications, interior strip and replace on modern Aventra Stock within a mid-sized heavy maintenance depot. This position is the key focal point for the safe and reliable running of the fleet and is a key requirement against the Service Agreement (SA). This is a safety Critical position working on a busy live rail maintenance depot and in this role you would be expected to complete the following:
* Work from written instruction (VMI)
* Work from Engineering drawings, working to specific measurements
* Removal of interiors and body sides
* Rebuilding on the vehicle sides
* Refitting, Seats, Grab Rails, Poles etc.
* Remove large components such as axle boxes, bogies, valves and couplers
* Replacing mechanical components to correspond to engineering drawings

Mechanical Fitter Personal Profile:
The Mechanical Fitter will be a highly self-motivated individual as training to develop will be given to these individuals. Attitude and enthusiasm is key for this role you, the Mechanical Fitter should be able to follow detailed instructions as an eye for details is key to this role. Following on the job competency based training you will be able to work under your own initiative.

HGV and PCV Technicians

RAF, REME, Army, Navy

Plant Maintenance

Rail

Heavy Mechanical Engineering

Motor Vehicle Mechanic

Also due to the nature of the programme candidates must be able to work days & nights which will include working at the weekend.
