Orion are delighted to be able to partner with our manufacturing client located in Hampshire, on arguably their most imperative hire to date for a Manufacturing Operations Manager. Our client started with humble beginnings which made them the supplier of choice to a wide and varied client base, but they took the brave and savvy step to merge with a global specialist to better their product offering and widening their net, allowing them to reach even bigger heights of success and customers across the UK and EU.

Due to continued success and the perfect blend of Technical and Commercial Senior Leadership Team members, they have identified the need to create a role for a Manufacturing Operations Manager who will take the reigns as far as the overall life-cycle management for New Product Introduction as well as Continuous Improvement Projects.

The Manufacturing Operations Manager will also be responsible for;

  • Formulate and execute an all-encompassing production strategy in harmony with the overarching objectives of the organization.
  • Supervise the seamless integration of the new product into established production workflows
  • Execute ongoing improvement efforts aimed at elevating product quality and minimizing defects through strategic initiatives
  • Formulate and oversee budgets dedicated to launching the new product, establishing production lines, and implementing facility enhancements.
  • Develop contingency plans to mitigate risks and ensure uninterrupted production

What do you need to be able to demonstrate to be considered for the Manufacturing Operations Manager role?

  • Extensive experience (circa 3-5 years minimum) of working at managerial level within manufacturing and engineering environments
  • Solid knowledge of overseeing New Product Introduction encompassing Quality
  • Working knowledge of budget management / control in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience of collaborating with multiple departments at any one time, taking into account Quality/Risk Assessment, Production Capability/Workflow etc.
