Contract Electrical Design Engineer
A rapidly expanding aerospace related company are searching for an experienced Contract Electrical Design Engineer to join their multi-disciplinary engineering team. With new projects having recently come into the business and more on the horizon, they have need for an intuitive Contract Electrical Design Engineer, to join the team and build smart innovations into their product design.
 
Reporting to the Senior Electrical Design Engineer, the Contract Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for designing electrical cabinets and servo motion control systems, integral to the design of the finished product.
 
Day to day duties will include:
  • Generating and agreeing product concept designs and specifications through to finalised product designs.
  • Producing sound electrical designs and documentation sufficient to enable full manufacturing documentation to be produced, fulfilling agreed concepts and specifications.
  • Producing sound wiring diagrams, single line diagrams, block diagrams, schematic diagrams.
  • Specifying COTS items, utilising standard parts and perform design reviews.
  • Checking and updating previous electrical drawings. Populating the design database and archive.
  • Reviewing and action development and production change notes as required.
  • Contributing to electronics Design Failure Mode and Effect Analyses (DFMEA)
 
To be considered for this Contract Electrical Design Engineer role you must have an Electrical Engineering qualification to HND or degree level or time served industry experience; a broad range of varied and relevant experience working as an electrical design engineer; strong working knowledge of electrical CAD software and PDM systems; experience designing electrical cabinets with wiring diagrams according to the latest standards.
 
We are looking for someone who is a highly motivated self-starter, able to work autonomously, effectively, accurately and efficiently. You will possess a strong aptitude for problem solving with a thorough, right first time attitude. The ability to plan, organize and deliver own work on time is essential.
