Key Responsibilities of the Senior Electrical Design Engineer:

• Electrical Design: Undertake work on various projects, completing electrical design concepts, schematic and wiring diagrams, calculations, and engineering documents.
• Guidance and Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior electrical engineers, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
• Design Reviews: Actively participate in design reviews with customers and internally with project teams, ensuring high-quality outputs and client satisfaction.
• Quality Assurance: Check technical drawings and documents created by other electrical engineers as part of the drawing production process, ensuring compliance with agreed standards.
• Client and Supplier Liaison: Liaise with customers and suppliers to gather necessary information, facilitating smooth project progression to completion.
• Team Communication: Communicate effectively with project team members, contributing to the overall production of comprehensive design packages.
• On-Site Surveys: Conduct vehicle surveys on-site when required to gather information essential for initiating the design process.
• Technical Support: Provide on-site technical support, including fault finding, as needed to ensure seamless project execution.

Essential Functions of the Senior Electrical Design Engineer:

• Expertise in developing electrical design concepts, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Proficient in performing electrical calculations and creating detailed engineering documents.
• Strong ability to guide and mentor junior engineers.
• Active participation in design reviews with both clients and internal teams.
• Thorough checking of technical drawings for accuracy and compliance.
• Effective liaison with customers and suppliers for information gathering.
• Clear and efficient communication with project teams.
• Capability to conduct on-site vehicle surveys.
• Ability to provide on-site technical support and fault finding when necessary.

Qualifications and Experience of the Senior Electrical Design Engineer:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in electrical design, preferably within the rail transport sector.
• Proficiency in design software.
• Experience of schematic and wirig diagram drawing production.
• A proven track record of leading small teams
