Role Overview:
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing all costs relating to our high-end residential projects, from initial estimates to final accounts. You will ensure projects are completed within budget while maintaining the highest quality standards. This role will involve close collaboration with project managers, clients, architects, and subcontractors to ensure seamless project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and feasibility studies for luxury residential new builds and refurbishments.
- Manage the procurement process, including tendering and contract negotiation with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Conduct detailed cost analysis and value engineering to optimize project costs without compromising quality.
- Prepare and manage interim valuations, variations, and final accounts.
- Monitor project finances, ensuring accurate tracking of costs and budgets throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide regular financial reports to senior management and clients, highlighting any potential risks or cost overruns.
- Assess and manage any contractual or commercial risks, resolving disputes and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
- Liaise with the design team to ensure accurate pricing and the smooth progression of projects.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within the high-end residential sector.
- Strong knowledge of residential construction methods, materials, and regulations.
- Experience in managing costs for luxury new builds and refurbishments.
- Excellent negotiation, financial management, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., CostX, MS Excel, Project Management tools).
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality projects within budget.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a project team.
- Knowledge of JCT or other standard forms of contract.
