Mechanical Design Engineer

Join an established and innovative manufacturer of pharmeceutical and packaging machinery, serving clients worldwide. With almost 80 years of history, this family-owned business is part of a larger group specialising in a broad range of engineering solutions. The company operates from modern facilities conveniently located near Haywards Heath train station, offering a collaborative and supportive work environment.

Due to recent growth, the business are expanding their Engineering Department and seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer. In this role, you will be involved in all aspects of machinery design, including customer-specific orders, R&D, product development, and cost-saving initiatives. You will take full ownership of the design process, from concept through to manufacturing, including producing detailed build manuals, user documentation, and compliance testing.

You'll work closely with a dedicated team of Mechanical Design Engineers and Control & Automation Engineers, contributing to a range of projects while ensuring high standards of quality and innovation.

Experience of the Mechnanical Design Engineer:
We are looking for a proactive and innovative team player with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to excellence. The ideal candidate will possess:

• Proficiency in SolidWorks
• Experience with SolidWorks/EPDM Vault (a plus)
• A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• A solid understanding of pneumatic control systems (beneficial but not a deal-breaker)
• Experience designing moving parts, mechanisms, eg: gearboxes, motors, pumps etc
• Experience in design complex, autamated machinery, systems or equipment
  
  

Job Details:

• Location: Near Haywards Heath
• Hours: 35 hours per week (flexibility required)
• Salary: 40-45k
